Making the Christmas & Winter themed whoopie pies was so much fun that I knew I wanted to try my hand at other varieties. This time, my whoopie pies are loooove-stricken.
Whether it's food, gifts, or house decor, I think everything's better with a bit of a personal touch, don't you? Especially when you're celebrating a relationship. My version of these whoopie pies represent special things from my marriage, such as the day we met (which is actually 1/20/08.. whoops!) and the name of our song. I also decided to get a little sassy with the word "whoopie." (It was just too easy, and I couldn't resist!) But these could easily be made to celebrate a parent/child relationship or a friendship. You could decorate the pies with nicknames, allusions to inside jokes, the name of a place that's important to you both, special dates, or favorite movies and books! So, if you're looking for a Valentine gift idea for your love, your child, or your friend, here ya go!
Made with parchment paper, brown craft paper, and twine.
One heart (top right) was made simply by adding frosting to the top, while the other has a heart cut out so it could be filled with frosting.
As I mentioned recently, "All I Need" by Mat Kearney is the song we danced to at our wedding.
