If I had my dream set of knives, there would be a block of Gunter Wilhelms sitting on my kitchen counter. But I don't because we don't have the budget for that sort of thing right now. Anyway, in the meantime I needed something sharp and serrated and long enough to help me cut through all the fresh bread I buy without smooshing it! I took a chance on this
bread and bagel slicer by Out of the Woods of Oregon, and I'm so glad I did! It's very sharp, user-friendly, and helps me to cut more even slices. I will say it's tricky to use the honing steel on it, but that's my only complaint. I use it constantly and have had so many friends comment on it and say they wish they had something like it. So. For those friends and anyone else who's reading this, I thought I'd make it easier for you to find! They even make some for you lefties!
As you can see, I used it for yesterday's French toast breakfast.
